Steve Katz is a pianist, piano teacher, and music arranger living in Memphis, TN.
Steve (aka Doc) teaches music privately to students from beginning to advanced levels. He teaches each student through either the classical (treble/bass) method or the chord system, or both. Steve limits his clientele to adults.
Steve is Professor Emeritus of Music at Southwest Tennessee College.
Doc has earned four college degrees:
- B.A., English/Music, Summa Cum Laude, Tulane University
- M.A., English, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- Ed.D., Curriculum and Instruction, University of Memphis
- Ph.D., Music (Piano Performance), Trinity University
Over the years, Doc has received many accolades for his teaching skills. Steinway, Inc., has designated Steve a Top Music Teacher in the USA. He has an engraved honorial brick on Amro Music’s Walk of Fame. A repeat winner of Most Outstanding Professor at Southwest, Steve went on to be named an Outstanding College Professor in the USA by the University of Texas.
