Steve’s Teaching – Steve Katz Piano

Having taught piano since 1973, Steve is skilled in interacting with students of all types and experience levels.

Dr. Katz uses two teaching formats:

In-person lessons for Memphians in his East Memphis studio, which offers a Steinway grand piano
FaceTime or WhatsApp lessons for non-Memphis students only

Steve currently has a full Memphis studio and also teaches students from as far away as North Carolina, Florida, Maryland, and even Israel.

Key facets of Doc’s lessons:

You may choose to play through the chord system or the treble/bass system or both.
With each song, you will also learn the music theory behind it — the why’s of music, not just the how’s.
Your lessons are like no-one else’s–you learn the repertoire you like, at your own pace.
Whether your skill set is beginning, intermediate, or advanced, you will find a home in Steve’s studio.
